Hi
I’m Bartosz Milewski, an amateur photographer based in Glasgow, Scotland, specializing in Scottish landscape photography. I find it a bit strange to write about myself, even if it’s only a few words. Like most photographers, I prefer my work to speak for me.
I’m lucky to be married to an amazing woman. She inspires me, pushes me to grow, and stands by me no matter what. She makes me walk with my head in the clouds but keeps my feet firmly on the ground.
I love what I do. It’s as simple as that. Being outdoors, waiting for the light as the weather changes, is exhilarating and exciting. At times, it’s frustrating — but also deeply rewarding. It motivates me and makes me feel alive.
My passion for Scottish landscape photography drives me to explore the ever-changing light and moods of Scotland’s wilderness. Each photo aims to capture the unique beauty and spirit of this incredible landscape.
Early starts don’t bother me. Being there when the world wakes is a joy, a privilege, and always a new experience. Evenings are slightly easier to plan, but no less magical. Watching people pause to take in the display that nature provides — and seeing the awe on their faces — is pure delight.
Sharing a small part of this ever-changing world, with all its beautiful details, is something I truly enjoy. This is my passion, and I believe it’s the best hobby in the world.
I return to the same places over and over, often at ridiculous hours when most people are still asleep. Sometimes I’m chasing the sunset, trying to find the right composition before the light fades. When I wait for the light, I feel fully present. I stop thinking about anything else — just nature’s smells, sounds, and textures. The light and shadows playing across the land. That whole experience makes every effort worthwhile.
Processing or ‘manipulation’ is kept to a minimum. Like most photographers, I use Photoshop, but I spend no more than 10 minutes on each image. This is simply part of the digital photography workflow. Using straightforward techniques, I aim to produce the natural, honest images you see here.
I hope you enjoy browsing through this selection of my work. There are many more images not yet featured on the site. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch by my Instagram profile or email!
